A diamond grading program

The art of reading a diamond.

Twelve filmed modules on the full body of diamond grading knowledge — from formation to the grading report — taught on camera by Kristina Tasceken: certified diamond grader, Dubai jewelry designer, and an active buyer of natural and laboratory-grown stones. Learn to grade, price, spot treatments and imitations, and understand how the trade actually works.

The difference

A certificate course tells you the grade. The trade tells you the price.

From inside the trade

Kristina buys stones for her own collections. Every module is taught the way it is used at the buying desk — which grades move the price, which don’t, and where a report can quietly mislead.

Real stones, original footage

Filmed in her atelier with a gemological microscope camera. Clarity, cut, treatments and the final grading are shown on actual stones, not on diagrams copied from a course book.

A working expert at the end

Grade a stone start to finish, price it against the market, separate natural from laboratory-grown and treated from untreated — and read a laboratory report the way a dealer does.

About

Kristina Tasceken

A jewelry designer based in Dubai with her own collections, a certified diamond grader, and a working buyer of natural and laboratory-grown stones. She learned grading from the institutes and pricing from the dealers — and has spent years reconciling the two at the buying desk.

This program is the course she wished had existed when she started: the full body of grading knowledge, taught by someone who has to be right about a stone before she pays for it.

“A grading report tells you what a stone is. It never tells you what it is worth. That is the part I teach.”
Kristina Tasceken
